I have just installed a new Asus PQ5 pro board and managed to get
all the drivers installed from the DVD except the audio drivers.
When I attempt to do an install from the audio\setup.exe file it
complains that a previous install did not complete and just exits.
When I installed the drivers previously I just clicke the All In1
setup file, and it looked like it was installing but I am not
sure. Any ideas please on how to get my auduio drivers installed, or
even un install a previous setup? But then I am not sure where
to look for a part installation.

Is this XP SP3? If so, it might be a problem I had with my
Gigabyte board which was that the driver installation was written
for an earlier version of XP, so it tries to install the UAA
driver which is already there and hence the installation fails. This
was a Realtek Audio Driver. I fixed it by disabling and then
uninstalling the UAA driver - then the audio driver would
install, then I ran Windows update.
I had to download the generic Realtek driver to get a decent error
message out of the PC. The Google lead me to the solution.

So how do I disable the UAA driver?

You have to find it in the device manager. Disable it, then you can
uninstall it.

No, I don't see it/have it in Device Manager, and after doing several
searches for UAA and or Realtek, they can't be found on my system??

Look at the Sound, video and game controllers in device mangier. Mine is a
much older MB but the Realtek is called Advance AC 97 for Via.
