Yes new PSU.I have a Gigabyte mobo and couldn't load the audio driver onto an XP SP3
Latest...Turned it off and reboot...all looking good...upgraded to SP2 and
then SP3 from CDs I had.
...only frustration now have is trying to go on line to download any
latest
updates...can't get on-line cos my network (to adjacent pc which is
on-line)
isn't up and running and the reason for that is the Network set up wizard
can't find network hardware cos haven't been able to load the motherboard
drivers as yet.
For some reason the CD that came with the mobo won't load (although it did
yesterday ok). Been trying to get further software from Gigabyte download
centre but so far can't get on.
system until I managed to uninstall the UAA bus driver - I had to first
disable it, then I could uninstall it. The driver supplied with the mobo
was stupid and would try to install the UAA stuff even when it was already
there, and SP3 installs it...
=========
BTW did you load your Gigabyte drivers etc AFTER loading Windows or
before...or during?...I'm assuming its after..hope this time they do load!
The Gigabyte drivers have to be loaded after windows as they are what Windows uses to access the hardware... :)
But my experience lead me to think that I should have loaded Windows from my SP1 CD, loaded the drivers, then put on SP3 from a prior download.
In the meanwhile I'm formatting and currently setting up a clean Windows on
the other HDD now having disconnected the newer larger harddrive because it
was playing up and when tried to load windows again got the worrying message
about Windows is closing down ..you may have a virus or its corrupted better
check it out with CHECKDISC /F etc..so, since not too familiar with doing
that...thought I'd start again with a different hard disc:-)
