Unknown "other device"

Trying to reinstall a compact presario sr2000 pc for a mate.

Everything is fine and I downloaded all the drivers from the site but in
device manager there remains an "unknown device"

Is there an easy way to find out what this is?

Chipset ok
Video ok
Sound ok
Network ok


The only strange thing was when I tried to install the sound driver it said
"you need an uaa hd audio driver which is available from microsoft"

I couldnt find this but when I done a windows update it gave me a sound
driver which installed ok. When I then tried to run the driver from compaq
it said the same thing about the uaa hd audio driver.

Is this something to do with the unknown device showing in device manager?
