Win 2000 disk

A friend of mine has an ancient 11-year old home-built PC running Windows 2000. It has stopped running -- the main symptom is that the desktop does not appear on bootup, just a light blue screen. Mouse movements work fine, but there's nothing to click on!

I've tried various things in safe command mode, but have come to the conclusion that we need to do a system restore from the Windows 2000 operating system disk. Only he doesn't have the disk (he didn't build the machine, and he's not even sure he ever had the disk in the first place).

So, any ideas where I can get a Win 2K disk? The friend in question is a pensioner, so cost is an issue.
