The high-end cards have 24-bit/96KHz surround sound reproduction and higher SNR than the cheaper cards.

Isnt is pretty much a waste of time to have high end sound cards on vista due to the audio all being done in software? I was under the impression that directsound through hardware was completely disabled.
Its kind of like having the best graphics card in the world, and it set to vga compatibility default drivers.
