No it isn't: I get exactly the same from the onboard graphics. I've
disconnected everything except the monitor (HDD connected or
not.)and the situation is the same:
Next step is to clear the CMOS. Take the battery out and short the
battery connections. If there is a "clear CMOS" jumper, put that in
the clear position as well. Wait two minutes, return jumper to
original setting, refit battery and test.
IIRC the "clear CMOS" jumper connects the CMOS rail to the battery or
0v; so there is no need to remove the battery.
I'm ahead of you there; but still exactly the same thing. I've decided to
take the machine apart and RMA the mobo. : I'll rebuild it with an Athlon
64x2 3800+ when I get sent a replacement. I hope it wasn't due to its
running a 4000+ that led to its demise; but it DID run faultlessly for over
6 months even though the BIOS had a problem recognising the architecture
initially at POST. In the meantime I'm glad I built this single-core
Athlon64 jobby that I'm on now. Hopefully I backed up my music collection
which is the only thing I can't find anywhere amongst my backed up
files...If not it's still on the HDD; so I'll get it back eventually.
