You know, you can get these symptoms just by having a bogus CD in the
drive (so that it attempts to boot from it and then stalls). The
flashing hyphen is a common result in this case.
No; nothing in the DVD-RAM drive.
Anyway, standard no-boot protocol applies:
- Disconnect all internal components except CPU, RAM, video card.
- Disconnect all USB and ethernet cables.
- Reset CMOS, check battery voltage.
- Re-seat all components (CPU only if desperate) and cables.
- Try another PSU.
- Try the board outside the case.
Yep; I'm onto that as time allows. Thanks. I've initially checked it and
tried removing IDE and SATA connections with little if any result. I'll try
without any USB peripherals connected later.
