I've been looking on ebay where "NEW" memory seems considerably less
expensive than that offered by Crucial.
One *always* takes a risk with eBay ... there's no guarantee that the
vendor will supply what's ordered, that it will work, that the vendor
has or will honour a return policy, or that the vendor even exists.
There is also uncertainty as to the exact spec of what one orders.
Crucial are the best-known of a number of manufacturer outlets (they
sell Micron memory) that sells a high-quality product, gives a concrete
guarantee, and has outstanding quality of service.
At the end of the day it's not about the price of the RAM ... it's
about the amount of time and money you risk wasting faffing about by
trying to save a few pennies. It's just not worth skimping.
Cheers,
Daniel.
