I have an LG DVD-RW. It was working fine yesterday on my PC which runs
XP-Pro. I inserted a DVD into it this afternoon, and a program I
didn't know was loaded, InCD, asked if I wanted to format the disk. I
absentmindedly clicked "Ok".
Since then, the drive is only recognized as a CD. I've tried
uninstalling the driver, unplugging the DVD-RW and rebooting...the
whole shooting match. ALso tried re-installing the VD player software.
Nothing workds.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
InCD is part of the collection of software provided by Nero (I think)
it is the packet writing option ie when formatting the CD you lose
approx 125mb of space but you can just drag and drop files - similar
to a floppy and therefore avoid the need to run the CD writing
software.
If I recall correctly you can go into the main CD Writing programme
and have the CD reformatted.
If you have allowed InCD to be installed it will load up automatically
at boot up of the system and if you don't plan to use it you have
created another element for start-up to be slowed down.
I suggest you Google "packet writing" to read up on what you are
dealing with.
