Thoughts?
Great for the Xbox360 for sure as cheaper than MS wireless adaptor.*

In my experience, they work really well. The only caveat is if you want
wireless in order to avoid constant plugging/unplugging a laptop ethernet
cable.
and I notice people have some fun with wireless.. making antennae

Overall, this is a much better solution than wireless for home
networking in
a domestic situation IMHO.
why?
I think if you're a bit paranoid about radiation, e.g. the type of
person that doesn't carry a mobile phone because of it. Then this is
absolutely fantastic..
I am a bit like that.. I have a rugged cat5 cable to survive women
tredding on it with their high heels. VERY expensive cable. May have
ended up about 70 quid - prices may have dropped a bit.. Still could
be dangerous though, somebody could potentially trip over the cable if
it wasn't flushed against the stairs.
If you think home users need something simple and that wireless is too
complex.. I don't agree. Home users are fine with wireless - or as bad
with wireless as with all the other complex technology they use but
don't understand and don't set up. So I hope you have a better reason
than that!
Here is a potential HUGE advantage.. with a question though..
Is this technology just for ethernet, or is it (a cat5 to mains
adaptor) for anything involving Cat5?
Cat5 can carry USB (cat5 usb extenders).. It can carry KVM (KVM
Extenders).. Not just ethernet.. So that would be very good. (I
suspect that even if it could do any of them it couldn't do more than
one kind.. but if it could it would be even better!).
