OK, thanks to you all - I have decided to stick with XP, upgrade the
RAM and possibly upgrade to an NVIDIA video card if I can't sort the
current video card out.
Thanks for your replies.
I know someone running Vista on a Celeron 2.4ghz with 1GB DDR and terrible
on board graphics (S3 Savage) it feels slower then XP but it runs, I'd
imagine your machine would run it slightly better. With your spec its
probably not worth spending money on something that will make your machine
feel slower unless you absolutely need Vista. If you just have an upgrade
itch and have a bit of money to spend your better off keeping the money and
saving a bit longer to build a new machine capable of running Vista as it
was intended.
