I have Photoshop 7 and Dreamweaver. These both seem to be massive programs
and I doubt if I'm going to be able to use them to their full potential. Are
there any books available that will help a beginner get the most out of
Photoshop and create a relatively basic website using Dreamweaver? I know
there are simpler programs to use, but these are useful programs to have on
a CV.
I`d suggest you be wary of putting them on your CV if you`re not very good at using them to their full potential. While a "Dummies" style book may get you using the basics, if you say in your CV and interview that you`re good on Dreamweaver, and you get asked a particularly technical question, you`ll be shooting yourself in the foot.
Plus, out of interest, where would they be useful on a CV without you having a relevant background/other skills in the same area? Presumably if you need help using Dreamweaver you`re not very experienced in designing websites (please be aware that the last website I wrote was done using Notepad, cutting and pasting some code together, and was disgusting! :-) ) - or am I missing the point?
Or, just thinking aloud here - any local colleges/night schoosl you could visit for help? Universities etc? Maybe better getting help from a real person than from a book, but that depends a lot on how you learn best, which only you will know.
