My Desktop PC has
Windows XP, Core 2 Duo inside @1.86Ghz, 2GB RAM, cheap Asus mobo
My HP Laptop has
Windows XP, Pentium M inside @ 1.60Ghz, 512MB RAM, unknown mobo
Clicking through windows menus, my laptop outperforms my desktop!
Possible reasons? Do you think it is related to the level of cache on
the CPU's? Maybe the quality of the motherboards? The Graphics chips?
Or something else.
pentium M's were a decent achitecture - mine seemed as quick as my 2.8ghz
P4.
I feel this is the most likely reason...
I just ordered a new DVD-/+RW drive and the company sent me a Gigabit
P35 based full size motherboard instead. (3 weeks late I might add).
Weird.
Anyway I think once I install that I will give my Core 2 a go at over
clocking.
