No, unfortunately, he is serious.

Why do you ask? Is there something wrong with the video cards?

I found out last night that there are no AM2+ mobos with SLi, so I guess my question is redundant.

So I guess an AM2 mobo with SLi is the way to go.

I'm really out of the loop on hardware these days (as if you couldn't guess) so any advice on a decent mobo would be appreciated.

If spending that much on two gfx cards for use with an SLi link why on earth are you even looking at AMD cpu's when the Intel core 2 duo's or quads put AMD offerings in the shade?

Well, an ultra-cheap X2 system with a £100 video card would give you vastly better gaming performance than a P35/E6750 combo with a £0 video card, so that's not automatically an issue unless money isn't a concern. Buying an E21x0 and overclocking is worth considering against an AMD system though.

The big problem is the SLI 8600s themselves. They're simply terrible value for money compared to a single HD3850, so unless you have an ATI allergy you'd be nuts to buy them.

Unfortunately nVidia don't sell anything priced between £100 and £180 atm.
