No, unfortunately, he is serious.

Why do you ask? Is there something wrong with the video cards?

I found out last night that there are no AM2+ mobos with SLi, so I guess my
question is redundant.

So I guess an AM2 mobo with SLi is the way to go.

I'm really out of the loop on hardware these days (as if you couldn't guess)
so any advice on a decent mobo would be appreciated.
