I've been using the machine for a few months now and I've found that as
long as it is connected to the mains power supply 24/7 I have no problems
with powering it down and up again. I've found that if I do disconnect
the mains I merely have to go through the routine of waiting for 15
minutes
before I attempt to turn it on.
All has been well.
Until this weekend.
Having left the house for a few days I had turned the PC off at the wall.
Upon my return I reconnected the power and waited 15 minutes before
attempting to boot. The machine didn't boot.
That was a few days ago and today it finally booted. What on earth could
be causing this?
I've got a PC that does exactly this, usually needs to be plugged in for a
short while, sometimes a long while, but eventually, it'll boot and then
always boot until unplugged. Motherboard's had blown capacitors for years -
I've always assumed they was causing the odd power problems, but I don't
pretend to know why.
