Re: router still driving me bonkers...!!!!

I'm still thrashing about trying to get this ***** "USRobotics
Wireless access point & router" working. It works fine on the LAN side
of things but can I get the wireless part to work (NO!).

If I disable WEP then it *does* work fine.

But as soon as I WEP'ize it I always get "limited or no connectivity"
message - and in fact it is "no connectivity". Ok so looks like I've
messed up with the keys - but I cannot see how. I'm pretty sure the
keys are correct. I've very carefully inserted the keys using
cut&paste (and even typing them) at the access point side and the
laptop side. While there seems to be a connection of sorts, in
practice it's impossible to access the net.

I've checked that DHCP is enabled and the router IP given as the
default gateway on the laptop (same as I did for the LAN part of the
router). When I disabled WEP I checked that the allocated IP for the
router was "in range" - it was. That is the *only* ip that is set
when DHCP is used (afai can see).

Any other ideas chaps?
Thanks
Try using WPA as the security feature instead of wep
1st reason its more secure than wep
2nd reason it may work better than wep on your router.
