Any opinions re AMD's Athlon 64 x 2?
Just asking as I've been talking to a guy who reckons Intel's chips
run too hot and burn out frequently!
Cheers,
Craig
I absolutely adore AMD Athlon 64 x 2 and have built a number of
machines using them. (I still have to make a start on the machine
utilising the Brisbane-cored 64 x 2 that I'm building for personal
use when I get time to spare.) I'm keeping my eyes and ears open for
any data and writeups on their latest triple and quad-core chips.
Well the news is that the Brisbane-cored AMD Athlon 64 x 2 4000+ is a real
cracker; and when I get a BIOS upgrade for the INXPense machine that I built
it into I fully expect a real "flying-machine" that'll equal or better
anything that Intel have ever come up with : "Lightning speed and precision
performance." is the phrase that comes to mind. - I'm standing by in case
the chipset catches fire!
