Could the secret be Virgin Mediocre, they've been having some speed
problems for months, mine used to fluctuate between 1.5 meg and 19.5
meg.
Recently got a 108 Netgear router and the wireless speed wasn't as
good as the wired, can't check again as the 'puter is now upstairs in
the small bedroom away from the modem.
Just checked wireless and I'm getting half the 20 meg I'm paying for.

Virgin Media limit the speed between peak hours for heavy users, could
that be your problem?
Not a speed issue mate, always get good speeds from newsgroups etc...
Defo a port forwarding problem and its really doing my head in now!
