I have just bought a Hitachi Sata 2 drive to use as a storage drive. Do I just go and connect it up using the supplied SATA cables and thats it?

Thanks
ooops, I should have also said that I have 2 ATA drives with Windows XP as master drive and Linux on the slave drive.

You'll need to make sure the SATA controller drivers are installed in Windows and that the SATA controller is enabled in the BIOS. Once that's done and Windows has detected the new drive, you need to pop along to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Disk Managment and partition/format/assign a drive letter to the new drive.

Ok thanks, but where will I get the said drivers from?
