Re: Tried Linux - is it really worth the hassle?

Well, after those of you who are <non MS>clearly fanatics pushed its cause on here I thought I'd be open minded and give it a try.
After an hours download time, I burnt Ubuntu 6.06 LTS on to a CD and booted up
My keyboard/mouse (bluetooth Logitech DiNovo) wouldn't work at all
Internet didn't work (presumably network card drivers)
My sound didn't work.
I haven't even got enough control to try and resolve it (I have a spare cheapo mouse that worked but not a keyboard)
So I am left asking again - is it worth it?

Depends on what hassle you get and if you can resolve any issues. For instance Vista refuses to work with my 3Com Boomerang NIC and Turtle Beach SantaCruz sound card. The grass ain't so green in the MS camp either.
