Re: DVI - worth it for a non-gamer?

I'm currently using a VGA connection from an integrated graphics chip
(motherboard is an Asus P5B-VM, monitor is a 20.1 inch HP LCD).

Would there be any noticeable improvement in display quality (for web,
word processing, and image editing) by installing a dedicated graphics
card with DVI output?

If so, can anybody recomment a suitable PCI-E card. It will never be
using for gaming, so its spec can be pretty low. I would, however,
like something that will support the various features of Vista.

I have an Asus P5V-V with integrated graphics. - Intel g965

This appears fine for web browsing and office applications, and will run Vista Aero.

The one thing it can't do is display video at 1600x1200 full screen. It doesn't keep up with any rapid changes in picture content.

(PS for satisfactory operation with Vista I had to pull the latest Video drivers from the Asus Web site, and use msconfig 'Startup' to disable Quick Time's qttask.exe, as well as
Intel's hkcmde.ese, igfxtray.exe, and igfxpers.exe)
