Can anyone advise on choosing a new graphics card to replace a 64Mb
nVidia GeForce4 MX440?
This card has been just-OK for my dual-screen XP setup of 17" CRT at
1024x768 and a 19" TFT at 1280x1024 - but I suspect that it will
struggle when I replace the CRT with a 1600x1050 TFT.
I don't play games or watch video on the PC - the most graphics-heavy
applications I use are low-end photo-editing (Ulead PhotoImpact XL) and
vector graphics (Coreldraw 9).
The comparison reviews that I have managed to find in magazines all seem
to be geared to game-playing and the recommended cards look as if they
would be overkill for my needs.
What sort of pricepoint should I be looking at for a card that isn't
going to hold things up badly (I have an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ with 1Gb),
and any recommendations on particular AGP models?

John,
You have not mentioned if your monitors have a DVI connector or
standard 15-pin hi-density D (D-Sub)
Any of the new nVidia graphics card with a dual output support dual
display, and prett much any card with a dual output will be an upgrade
from what you already have.
This card will do what you want:-

If you dont mind spending a bit more and want better performance go
for this:-

This card has dual DVI Sockets which is perfect if both your monitors
have a DVI Interface. If not, you can convert the DVI connectors to D-
Sub using the supplied adaptors.
