It hangs with a small DOS like flashing underscore in the top left of the
screen.

The only thing that lets the PC continue to boot is to disconnect both hard
drives. I've tried connecting each drive seperatelly but no joy - the only
thing to get past the hang is to have no HDD's connected.

The system does seem to have become more and more buggy/crashy over the lat
few months

Does anyone have any ideas?

Oh Ive just had a really weird thought

I have a wireless keyboard and mouse .... this has one USB connector and one PS2 keyboard connector.

When I was swapping my keyboard/mouse over to my Apple, I discovered that the keyboard AND mouse could work through the USB connector only

When trying to reboot the PC, I didnt bother plugging the keyboard back in ..... please dont tell me it's hanging because theres no keyboard plugged in !!!!

I will have to look tomorrow now :(
