No input using DVI only. Maybe the cable is faulty.
Thanks for the info!

I've just bought an HP w20 widescreen monitor, it has both VDI-D and VGA
inputs but for some reason there's no signal on the DVI input. My graphics
card has a DVI socket (Nvidia Geforce FX5700LE). I can't even get the BIOS
to show on the DVI connection so it's not a driver issue.
Is this a problem with the card? Or is the monitor faulty/incompatible?
Thanks in advance
Hi
First, try wiring only the DVI cable, not the VGA. Then see if you get a
BIOS/POST screen.
If that doesn't work, try a new cable.
The 5700 might(? or not) have trouble going to 1600x1200 or 1680x1050
(whatever your screen's native resolution is) but I would expect a simple
POST screen to display. However, if both cables are attached, the card
*might* default to starting with VGA only. Maybe try a different DVI cable
if you can get one.
My Matrox 550 could not manage 1680x1050 but could do everything else over
DVI. In the end I got a Geforce 6200A which manages everythign perfectly
