LMAO!
Packard Bell might not be the greatest in terms of hardware (what other
manufacturer's h/w do they actually put in their machines these days?),
but they have a very good support section on their website, where you
can download anything you need for your given system.
Many a time when I've been 'restoring' someone's PB PC to its former
glory in the absence of a restore disc, I've used that site to get the
exact drivers i needed, with minimum fuss.
I wouldn't buy one of those machines on principal, but they ain't so bad
for those who do. Not everyone is as knowledgeable as some using this
group, nor do they have access to reliable, unbiased information which
they can understand, ultimately leading them to a better buy. However,
I've yet to meet a PB user who was completely disappointed with the PC
as opposed to the vendor from whom they got it when things did go wrong.
"High Quality" they may not be, but they do tend to do exactly what they
say on the tin.
Quite true. A computer either work or it don't work. If it does the job,
then nobody will ask about what computer your work was done on. However...
Packard Bell is a budget brand, so the likelihood of marginal components
is greater. A member of my family bought a Packard Bell Laptop, she has
had no end of problems with an intermittent error in the graphics system.
It has been back for warranty repair several times, but the problem is
still there. Bad luck, I suppose.
