I've got a Thermaltake Armor case.

I like the flexibility of the case, and wanted the version without the
side
window, but I couldn't find any in the UK. So now I have one with a side
window that has "Thermaltake - Cool /all/ your life" embossed on it. The
case looks good and has loads of space, but the quality isn't as high as
I
would have expected at this sort of price.

But the main problem is that the two 120mm fans seem to be a lot noisier
than Thermaltake claim on the website. They seem to be noisier than the
two
80mm fans, and are the noisest part of this new machine, by far.

Wire the two 120mm fans in series[1], they'll still give adequate
airflow and be a lot quieter. I did this recently on a cheap antec case
that has 120mm fans front and rear.

[1] Cut the molex off one of the fans (call it fan1), then cut one of
the wires from the other fan (fan2) an inch or two from the molex.
Assuming it was the red wire you cut, solder the red wire from the fan1
to the red wire from the molex of fan2. Solder the black wire of fan1
to the other loose red end leading to fan2. Don't forget to use some
heatshrink on the joints, don#'t leave any bare wires around.

I'd really prefer to use the QFan thing, or a fan controller.

Do you know if I can get the three pin fan connectors anywhere? Would I
just have to cut them from an old fan? I suppose they are crimped on in
some way, and I don;t want to buy a job lot of 500 or something and a
special crimping tool.
