Re: Single sided DIMMS for QDI mobo

In article <j0ehb2tsu2taq8205romiiqqhqb51evhb0@xxxxxxx>, says...
Want to increase RAM on a PlatiniX 2.

Removing existing 128MB stick & inserting two 256MB PC133 SDRAM DIMM
sticks leads to memory scan on boot as 1MB i.e., double the size, &
the machine stops there - no POST.

Have carried out the Crucial memory scan with the original 128MB in
place alone & it confirms it is the above memory spec & but the mobo
is 100MhzFSB.

The only cosmetic difference between the 128MB stick & the 256 sticks
is that the former has memory units on one side of the PCB only whilst
the latter has them on both sides.

Should I be sourcing "single-sided" or some other description?

Is it cheap *** generic RAM you bought or stuff from Crucial? I found
that noname crap gives nothing but grief. Crucial IS worth the money.

I'd try it with each stick in on its own and see what happens.
