Sorted! bit of a scare though! I managed to get pass the keyboard, into the "bones" of the laptop - used a hairdryer to dry inside ( for about 5-10 mins) and it works fine now! My daughter is well pleased to get the laptop, "back from the dead"

Glad to here it. May I ask your source of "cheap" laptops? - all the 2nd-hand ones I've seen (at £180, I assume that's what we're talking about here!) have been very low spec and half the cost of a new one. Or off ebay :-)
