water on Laptop..damm..

Hi, I bought my daughter a cheap IBM 600x laptop, about 6 months ago, for
about £180 and a good job too! She reported that she spilled some water on
the keyboard, and she cleaned the water off with a paper towel, and it
seemed to work OK. Then she said "it just turned itself off" I bought the
laptop, back home, and ran a hairdryer over it with the HDD, the battery,
the CD ROM, and the memory removed.
Then I put the HDD, the battery, the CD ROM, and the memory back in the
machine and turned it on. IT powered up, the lights on the laptop came on,
but nothing from the screen.... I'm leaving the laptop open for now, with a
fan nearby blowing cold air on the thing.. Do you guys reckon it's Dead in
the water? or is there anything else I can try?
