To make your partiion larger than 32GB you have a few options.

Boot off a win 9x boot disk and use commands - fdisk and format .

Trouble is it is in a USB box and the Win98 disk doesn't (I think)
support DOS USB.

it's probably already formatted anyway.

regarding USB enclosures (you called a usb box)

I don't see the need for USB Enclosures. I use an internal HDD with a
usb-ide adaptor. I guess maybe an enclosure is more secure
