which ram?



Can someone help out a newbie.

My machine - a 530 P4 with 512Mb - has always performed a little slower than I expected. Without any major surgery I thought I would buy and fit some more ram but I want to ensure I get a) the right strip and b) it does really make (worthy) an improvement. I do suspect I don't have the fastest HD on the block.

If it is of any guide, taskmanager reports Commit charge 386M/1057M as I type this (but nothing very special open/running).

What has confused me a little is the bios screen shows the FSB at 200Mhz, now I *thought* I'd bought a 400M mobo so that would explain some speed issues unless the bios and aida32 are being 'honest' and that is really how it should be shown (is it 200+200?).

Anyway, if someone could say; yes and go buy xxx marked ram that would be most helpful - I can see PC3200 mentioned in aida, is all pc3200 memory the same (other than memory sizing), I assume I need another 512Mb stick. I'm prepared to replace if required rather than add.
