This is a pioneer 107 which has done a fair bit of work - maybe 300+
successful writes. It still appears to write perfectly well, both
standard dvd film format and general data, and the results play fine
in other players, standalone or PC. But while the 107 will READ
commercial DVDs fine, it will no longer play any DVD-R copies (ahem -
backups) of those films but it does happily read DVD-Rs burnt as data
(e.g. divx and applications etc.).
Can anyone suggest a diagnosis?
My guess is that the drive is absolutely fine, and the problem is in
software. How does it "no longer play" backups of commercial films?
