Yes - like wot all the others say, but there is a very, very tiny, slight risk that if the hard disk has been in use in one orientation for a long time then the spindle bearings (if not fluid dynamic) will have 'bedded in' in that orientation and typically what happens if you turn the drive into the other plane is that it works fine until spun down, at which time it takes a little persuasion to spin up again - haven't seen the problem for years though.
