After replacing jules with a small shell script on Monday 30 Jan 2006
15:19, the following appeared on stdout:

Watch the top right hand corner of the screen when you see the Compaq
logo as the machine POSTs. You'll notice a flashing block cursor appear
just before it boots. Hit F10, which will run the diagnostics and
configuration software from the special partition (or a real BIOS
utility on some later models, but the procedure is the same).
On most of these older Compaqs, you *need* to run the hardware
configuration utility from the setup partition before anything will
work at all when you add new hardware. They're only just Peeceeish
enough to be called a PC, and you can forget plug and pray. Most of the
older ones are EISA based.
