Saying that this one here http://tinyurl.com/derbq the guy who replied
actually seems to know what he's talking about when he says its usually a
hardware conflict or a software utility that causes it. The ones that
suddenly develop a problem with apparently no change to hardware must either
be a software problem or the modem is faulty unless its a case of the
resources "magically" reassigning themselves to cause an invisable conflict.
I think the only way to get to the bottom of this is to remove all other PCI
cards so you just got the modem and then either stripping down the os to
minumum or re-installing the thing.
