Just installed the 8 bay firewire myself - case is the same size as a
medium tower, but it makes everything tidy and saves having numerous
cables going all over the place to individual enclosures.
Needs a Firewire PCI bracket if you don't already have this option on
your motherboard, but easy enough to install.
Case comes with its own power supply and internal fans - not the
quietest, but ok and these could always be changed if they are too noisy
for you.
There are probably similar options elsewhere, but these guys were
helpful when I phoned them up to discuss various options, and were
available to help by phone when I was putting it together and got in a
muddle (case comes with SATA drive connections installed and a lot of
cables. These have to be replaced with the Firewire connections).
Hope this gives you some further options to consider.
