The problem so far...
I've had so many problems with computers this christmas that I want to
scream. After solving won't even let me into the BIOS. ON power up I
get everything that my Grandaughters PC threw at me, I finally got to
connect her to the 'net, but just before I got it connected for her the
screen just went black, and heard those horrible words "is it supposed
to do that?"
Now when I switch the PC on, I get a copyright message for no more than
two seconds and then the screen goes black and the firmware in the
monitor says there's no signal from the computer.
The fans on the power supply and the processor are still spinning and
the optical mouse is getting power, but there is no light for the hard
drive and the keyboard doesn't react at all.
So far I've tried disconnecting all of the peripherals one at a time
until I'm back to a bare system with a keyboard and mouse. I've cleared
the CMOS by taking the jumpers off and removing the battery (and
obviously the power supply too).
Can anyone offer any suggestions??
.
