Car CO2 output (@ 35mpg): 0.3 kg per mile
UK electricity generation: 0.43 kg per kWh

How did you come to these figures?

The 0.43 kg per kWh grid-average figure can be found on dozens of web pages, although I'm not sure what the original source is.

CO2 emissions figures in g/km for new cars are required by some EC regulation (they use a "combined" run - part urban, part motorway). A 1.3 litre Ford Ka with no AC uses 0.237 kg per mile, for example. Alternatively you can convert from mpg given typical efficiency.
