Hello, All!
I sold a Packard Bell Imedia computer in May this year (05) which was running xp home, all activated and updated etc together with the licence sticker on the side. The person that bought it has just got back to me with a problem, he says he had to re-install the OS using the disk I supplied (don't remember selling a disk but still...) he says the system doesn't accept the number on the licence sticker. QUESTION.. would he have to use a genuine Packard Bell install disk? I always thought any XP home disk would do.
The general rule is that any XP Home OEM (not full or upgrade) disk of a version later or equal to the key will do. Never seen a system where this didn't work, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist.
