I've generally been pretty disappointed with dictation software, but I want to try again, in the hope that it's improved. The choices seem to be Dragon and Viavoice. Any ideas which is best?
BTW, I am not too interested in the bells and whistles, just accurate transcription. In the past, I was getting 90% to 95% accuracy, which meant that virtually every sentence had mistakes in it. Does anyone know if accuracy has improved in the past 5 years or so?
Even if it is 99% acurate there'll be a mistake on every sentence!
So all your sentences have at least a hundred words?
No, no! It works perfectly for 99 people, then not all for the 100th :-)
(That's a semi-serious comment, btw. These things *can* have trouble with some voices; quoted "accuracies" may or may not include "difficult speakers").
