All I'd suggest is choose a reputable provider for primary MX and (if
you choose to have one) secondary MX, and there's not much you can do
beyond that. I'd say it's more important to have a provider where you
can get a quick response to a problem (in terms of either you asking, or
them noticing it and fixing it), and generally that means paying a
little more.
