Both sites are good for info. linitx has a bit more detail on some things
though, in fairness, most of it seems to have been scraped off via's own
site(s) - espeically from the pages at
http://www.viaembedded.com/product/index.jsp

It uses shockwave flash, which I detest, but there is good information there.

They don't seem interested in providing end-user support, so you can't ask
them questions and expect an answer (not even in Taiwanese, I suspect).

AIUI they design the chips (at least partly in the US) and design and
manufacture the boards. All or some of the chip fabrication is contracted out,
some of it to IBM.

You can achieve fanless operation with appropriate choices of cases and
cooling equipment. A heat-pipe from the CPU leading to a monolithic heatsink
on the outside of the case is a common design choice. I bought a Morex Venus
case (which is actually big enough for a Flex-ATX board, like a Shuttle, if
you can find anyone selling the board alone) and the case fans drown out any
sound from the PSU with NO trouble!

Cheers,
Daniel.
