Oddly, there's no reference to SATA in the BIOS setup at all - nothing
even like "No SATA drives found".

There's nothing obvious here:

Unless the "limit to 150MB/s" setting is the same as "SATAII" (I'm
pretty ignorant about SATA, and didn't know there were different
specs. Oops).
