Failing 9800 Pro

Hi,

I bought a 9800 Pro about 14 months ago. It was exchanged because it
failed and stopped working completely after about 4 months.

The replacement has now developed a fault where random bits of colour
appear on the screen. It is especially evident when you move a window
around the display - the window seems to gather, and leave behind,
coloured dots and lines. The replacement was a Connect 3D - I'm not
sure what the 1st was.

With both these cards I fitted one of the full length Artic Coolers. I
fitted a temperature sensor to the second one and it got up to about
60 C playing 3D games.

Anyhow I'm not sure what to do now. Are 9800 Pros fragile? Are there
more robust ones? Any advice? How does an X700 compare (they are
cheaper)?

Paul (note that this email address is not read)
