We have had them here, (we have had vet students working with us doing
their poultry husbandry experience for a number of years now, over 40 in a

and most of them are really tough, BUT their size IS a disadvantage in
some things.
There are just times when technique is not enough, and balance of power
around the body and the strength therein is needed.
Its easier to be gentle when you have the residual strength.
it is a problem. I have found female vets do well in large animal practice,
but those I know who have made a success of it are comparatively strong and
tall.
Whilst the delicate and slight can really win out with lambings, when it
comes to calving or similar physical strength and height do start being
important.
It is a difficult one because being small doesn't stop you being a truely
excellent vet
It's hard to tell sometimes, although it does look a little like
paranoia, but in human medicine it seems to be getting to the point
where nobody can lift anything. Which means more space needed for the
lifitng machinery in a hospital ward. And that's with nurses who still
resemble my mother--hefty lasses.
Though there's a vet I know who has an answer to the muscle problem. She
shanghais the rest of the rock band.
