Labour. I have wads of worthless cash brought back from those regions
by people. Anyone want a 20,000 [whatever] note?.

give it time, the £ can go that way as well

milk from Eastern Europe ?

They buy their feedstuffs on the same market we do, their cheap labour
might
counter the extra cost of haulage but they aren't going to be massively
cheap
They even have EU regulations as well

Can't you forsee a situation where fuel for home food production is
taxed but foreign imports are transported using untaxed aviation fuel
and marine diesel ?

Remember that the price of maize is now linked to the price of fuel

Massive amount of land being brought into production worldwide, add
in Australian drought finishing (if), back to square one.

Interesting to see the amount of land being brought back into production, a
lot of it is not good land, and is only profitable at £120 a ton, which is
why it is out of production now. If the price falls it will go straight back
out of production again so it is sort of self policing.

'Weather events' such as the Australian drought are all one offs, but there
again, we can all have them, as Europe did this year.
I suspect we will have years with perhaps 1 weather event and other years
with several, and the price will rise and fall, but probably around a higher
average
