Thus spake Malcolm <Malcolm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>It's also worth reading this, regarding the C4 programme:
There was an editorial in the New Scientist a couple of weeks ago which
reviewed the International Panel on Climate Change's summary report.
Among other comments, it said:
"The IPCC's efforts are creating a bedrock of scientific certainty, but
don't expect this to silence the sceptics. With one or two exceptions,
they are masters of spin rather than science. They have no alternative
narrative for the state of the climate and merely hop from one
uncertainty to the next: cosmic rays or little ice ages, urban heat
islands or the social pathology of climate scientists."
"Whatever the future direction of the IPCC, we now know enough to make
climate change the challenge of the 21st century. One of the most
corrosive contributions of the climate sceptics has been to promote any
uncertainty as an excuse for inaction. In truth, the remaining
uncertainties should be making us redouble our efforts to mitigate
climate change. It is a fair bet that much of what we do not yet know
for sure will turn out to be scarier than most of us like to imagine."
OTOH, it is well worth reading this article, by the ex-editor of NS,
which puts a different perspective on what the IPCC have actually said

As someone has said in another ng, is this The Great Global Warming
Swindle Swindle?
And note the reference to problems with an earlier programme by the same
film-maker.
when considering vested interests it has to be noted that a programme maker
is far more likely to sell the programme if it is controversial than if it
merely agrees with what everyone says is right anyway
