Astonishingly we missed the lot although profuse lightning seen to the
west.
Son has just left for the norwegian sector of the north sea for a three
week stint on an oil exploration ship. Might have a rough ride I
suspect.
Note that hurricane florence has got a mate, tropical depression gordon,
both headed our way.

All of these are atlantic storms. Given the caribbean is now extremely
hot (much over 30C) a storm that gets in and grows there is going to be
a monster.

I guess with the sun right over the equator at the moment, its getting
hot there and generating lots of thermal power to initiate weather
systems.
