Physisists at the University of Aberystwith have formed a theory that the glow of clouds is caused by a large object in the sky, about half a degree wide.
This object is very bright and causes the whole sky to light up. Of course this object has never actually been seen.

Half a degree wide? That's why it's at university; trying to get the whole degree.
